Women spend a month applying fake tan over lifetime

In a recent survey undertaken by Superdrug, the high street health and beauty chain, it has been reported that on average a woman will spend one month applying the best fake tan over the duration of her whole lifetime.

In addition to this, one in five women will spend a further 10 days under a sun bed on the same time basis.

It was not just women that were targeted in Superdrug’s survey. It was reported that almost half of all men questioned by Superdrug confessed to applying fake tanning products for men before a night out. It must be presumed that Superdrug’s survey was conducted in store!

18 – 24 year olds use the most fake tan products

In a separate Australian survey (not conducted by Superdrug) it was found that on average fake tan products are used by almost nine percent of all South Australian Women over the age of 18 years old.

The age group most likely to use fake tan products were those aged between 18 and 24 years old, with 28 percent of those surveyed saying that they used some sort of fake tanner.

Further interesting statistics say that the higher the annual household income, the more likely the woman is to use fake tanning and people with fair skin are far more likely to use fake tanner than those whose skin tans quickly in the sun.
