Fake Tan Mitt

A fake tan mitt is basically a mitten which you wear when applying fake tan. It has a smooth side, which is usually made from polyurethane foam which should have a  feel not too different to touching velvet.

Using a fake tan mitt helps in the application of the self tanner and should ensure an even application as well as a a streak free tan.

The mitt also has a dual purpose as it ensures that the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet stay clear of self tanner stains.

A fake tan mitt is important for an even application of self tanner

Many of the large self tan product providers give free mitts with their self tanners. If not they are readily available from many high street stores.

Boots offer a self tan mitt for around £3 which is more than satisfactory to use when applying a self tanner.

A little tip when using a tanning mitt is to wipe the back of your hands over with the mitt once you’ve finished applying fake tan to your body as there will still be ample tan left in the mitt to cover the back of your hands perfectly.

The fake tan mitt is reusable and should always be washed in warm and soapy water. It should be washed straight after use. However this is not fool proof and it will be almost impossible to get all the tan out and will leave the mitt stained.
