Fake Tan Gone Wrong

It’s great to have a fake tan but there is a thin line between looking tantastic and looking like you have been tango-ed!

Today the market is flooded with sunless tanners including, sprays, lotions, gels and moisturizers to get a sunless tan. But what if you overdo these products and want to get rid of a fake tan gone wrong?

Use Fake Tan Remover For a Fake Tan Gone Wrong

You will be pleased toknow that there are solutions. There are many self-tanner removers which are readily available in drug stores and work as suitable solutions for removing fake tan.

For example, for those removers that use cream, when you apply the cream onto your skin, it penetrates into the layers of the skin and helps lightens the sunless tanning effect.

A commonly used fake tan remover is Hydrogen peroxide. When you apply this on your tan skin, it forms a sort of liquid exfoliation on the skin and reduces the tan effect. You should be careful of this remover if you have skin allergies

Another method is to use a dermatological buffing cloth available at most beauty salons or stores. When you scrub this onto the tanned portion it helps to fade away the effect and with more extensive use it removes the sunless tanner.

It is also possible to use a lotion with exfoliating alpha or beta hydroxy acids. These lotions exfoliate the dead layer of the epidermis and remove any fake tan gone wrong.

A final and effective, if rather obscure method is to remove the fake tan by rubbing alcohol on your skin. You can rub alcohol on your skin with the help of a cloth and then rinse it with water. The process is then continued until the undesired colour is completely gone.

Applying a fake tan imperfectly has always been a problem that I have suffered from. I have from time to time used the St Tropez remover. Its not bad..
